Project tutorial: from a sketch to design exploration
Getting startedReview draft
On this page
Prepare your sketch and one or two necessary references. The sketch sets the design basis; references illustrate materials, space or expression. Distinguish their roles.
1. Give each input a clear purpose
Upload and wait for processing. Reference each attachment explicitly: “Use this sketch as the basis; retain the entrance and roof profile. Use this image only for materials, not massing.” Clarify illegible text, scale or orientation in the conversation. State fixed conditions instead of simply saying “use these references.”
2. Define one exploration round
Use AIRI loci Agent or the Design refinement Skill to break down and compare directions. If you already know you need images, request them in the same conversation. Default models and parameters are recommended.
Explore one main variable, such as facade materials, while keeping viewpoint and basic massing requirements consistent. Changing viewpoint, structure, materials and surroundings together makes differences hard to attribute.
3. Compare on the canvas
Place results in an auto layout frame. Check entrances, floors, roof profiles and how references were used. Note acceptable changes and deviations; reference specific images for explanation or correction.
Generated images may alter details you did not ask to change. Use original drawings for accurate dimensions, rather than deriving them from renderings.
4. Choose a basis for the next round
Reference the chosen result and specify exactly what changes: “Keep this massing and viewpoint; change only the material beside the main entrance to light stone.” Remove unused attachments from the draft to avoid mixing alternatives.
Keep the original sketch, adopted references, chosen result and decisions before moving to video or presentation work.
