Building standards lookup
Skill manualsReview draft
On this page
Find applicable standards, technical requirements, and clause explanations for mainland China building design and related disciplines. This Skill helps identify sources, conditions, and missing project information; its scope is not an EU or US code-checking service.
Define the object
Provide city, building type, and the exact object in question. Stair width, for example, depends on use, occupancy, and location. Attach standards, briefs, approvals, or drawing excerpts and any known clause number.
Look up and verify
- Select this Skill and ask a specific question, distinguishing national and local requirements where relevant.
- Review conclusions, conditions, and sources. Routine answers may be preliminary references; supply missing parameters or compare conditional branches.
- For exact wording, request the official document, clause, edition, and page. Search snippets, secondary explanations, and readable official text support different levels of certainty.
- For conflicting documents, check scope, effective date, and specialized relationships rather than automatically taking the strictest number. Supply project-mandated documents when necessary.
- For a detailed topic review, specify scope and ask for clause-by-clause sources and missing conditions.
Decide whether the answer is sufficient
Ensure it concerns the right building, floor, room, or component. Numbers need units and applicability; references must be traceable. Without reliable full text, treat the result as preliminary, not verified verbatim wording.
This supports design-stage reference, not formal construction-document review or an authority's determination. See Brief interpretation for source requirements or Design brief creation workflow for a new brief.
