Scene design

Skill manualsReview draft

On this page

Turn a theme and style into a main scene rendering for a theme park, exhibition, event, or imaginative environment. Once approved, develop additional views, materials, details, and human-scale illustrations.

Prepare the scene

Describe theme, purpose, audience, and visual experience. Attach a site photo, sketch, or model view and identify spatial relationships to retain. Without a base, the space is invented from the text.

Establish the main view

  1. Select this Skill and explain the task, such as a bright, approachable forest exploration area based on an exhibition-room image.
  2. Check the direction and specify the intended experience: quiet exploration, group interaction, or dramatic display.
  3. Review structure, spatial relationships, theme, form, and materials in the main image. Revise it before expanding views.
  4. Once approved, choose whether to create a combined multi-view/detail presentation and identify important details and scale figures.
  5. Verify that all views depict the same scene and add information rather than merely cropping the main image.

Continue revising

Identify the view or panel to change. If the theme changes substantially, approve the main view again before updating derivatives.

For functions and circulation from a plan, use Interior floor plan design. For additional angles of a settled aerial proposal, use Aerial view to multiple views. Relative scale in scene images still requires checks against actual dimensions.
