Brief interpretation
Skill manualsReview draft
On this page
Extract conditions, metrics, constraints, and deliverables from a design brief, tender, or competition package. Begin with conversation analysis, then optionally create diagrams or presentation pages.
Prepare materials
Attach the main brief, metric tables, boundary drawings, and clarifications. State versions and questions. Use clear, complete scans and retain conflicting documents with their provenance.
Understand before designing
- Select this Skill and specify priorities, such as functions, areas, retention conditions, deliverables, and client questions.
- Confirm location, project type, and scope. Replace unreadable pages or misaligned tables; unread content is not analyzed content.
- Distinguish original requirements, analytical judgments, design recommendations, and open questions. Key numbers should point to a file, chapter, or page.
- Resolve conflicts and omissions. Confirm authoritative versions instead of filling missing requirements with customary assumptions.
- After text approval, choose optional relationship/site diagrams and summary pages, or stop at text.
Carry it forward
Pass confirmed conditions and original sources to later design tasks. When new briefs or clarifications arrive, identify the source change and update affected metrics, conclusions, and diagrams.
For a new brief from initial ideas, use Design brief creation workflow. For a prequalification presentation, use Prequalification and project understanding workflow. Extracting an old standard cited in a brief and checking its current version are separate tasks; Building standards lookup covers mainland China standards.
