Landscape design workflow

Explore spatial organization for a park, courtyard, square, or community landscape from a site base. Compare concept plans, then develop a selected option into a colored master plan.
Prepare the site
Supply a satellite image, parcel plan, CAD screenshot, or boundary drawing with a clear design area. Explain city or climate, use, users, activities, and retained or protected trees, structures, and utilities. References are optional.
Do not assume the entire visible map is available for design; mark the actual boundary.
From concepts to a master plan
- Select this Skill and provide the base and description.
- Confirm boundaries, use, retention constraints, and climate. Distinguish image-based area estimates from official data.
- Compare each concept's plan and explanation, especially paths, functional groups, activity nodes, and planting layers.
- Select an option by name or number for colored-plan refinement.
Example: “Explore a neighborhood pocket park with rest, children's activity, and shaded seating. Retain the marked trees and compare paths and activity zones.”
Review the design
Check functions, entrance connections, and access to nodes before graphic style. Separate layout preference from color preference.
The final plan must retain the selected design. Correct unintended changes to paths, water, or structures, even if the drawing looks more polished. Earlier concept plans remain useful if refinement fails; select another existing option explicitly when changing direction.
For planting changes within a fixed layout, use Landscape planting replacement. Detailed grading, planting quantities, and construction details are not established by this presentation plan.
