Extract colors, materials, forms, and atmosphere from project imagery to communicate a clear design direction.
Prepare materials
Upload renderings, photographs, material images, or site photos. Distinguish project evidence from inspiration references and prioritize conflicting references. Explain audience and emphasis.
Build a coherent board
- Select this Skill and state the desired emphasis and cross-discipline consistency.
- Confirm the discipline: architecture emphasizes massing and facades; landscape emphasizes planting and hardscape; interiors emphasize furniture, furnishing, and light. Identify a leading discipline for mixed projects.
- Check that keywords, materials, and colors derive from supplied images and preserve important qualities.
- Review supplementary images and composition. Use originals where sufficient and avoid unsupported additions merely to fill space.
- Refine emphasis, for example replacing abstract atmosphere images with material-junction references while retaining the palette.
Evaluate usefulness
At a distance, the board should communicate one direction; close up, its elements should explain that direction. Reduce repeated images or colors if the board does not guide choices.
Mood boards do not replace physical samples, product models, or procurement specifications. Generated material close-ups are visual references. For room-specific furniture and textiles, use Interior furnishing concept boards. To develop spatial designs, provide the selected board together with the real base to the relevant design Skill.
