Design option comparison

Skill manualsReview draft

On this page

Explore alternatives from one or more base images, with optional references, then organize them into side-by-side presentation layouts.

Prepare materials

Identify discipline, reference roles, conditions common to all options, and variables to compare, such as facade materials, colors, or atmosphere.

Create comparable options

  1. Select this Skill and define the comparison while preserving shared conditions.
  2. Distinguish project views from style references; different views of one project are not automatically different directions.
  3. Review grouped references or recommended directions and select meaningful alternatives. Without references, refine recommended directions in text.
  4. Check consistency of shared conditions before differences. Similar references may produce only minor variants; add a different reference or comparison question when needed.
  5. Review comparison pages, select a direction, and state explicit tradeoffs when combining elements.

Make the comparison meaningful

Set criteria before judging images: positioning, existing conditions, material expression, or experience. Viewpoint, lighting, and rendering quality can bias judgment; request consistent presentation conditions.

A comparison page does not complete performance, cost, or compliance evaluation. Turn the selected direction into explicit design conditions. Use Design refinement for one independent direction per reference, or request “detail render” with a base image and rendering requirements in main/Auto mode to improve an established proposal's visual quality.
